Introduction

This lesson shows you how to enter Student Incidents that are not included in the Safe Schools Report.

Student Incidents are events or infractions that are relatively minor, such as dress code violations. Only those incidents reported as School Incidents are reported on the Safe Schools Report. This report draws its data from reported School Incidents.

The Student Incident Summary is an up-to-date listing of all incidents attached to a student. Current year and to-date statistics for the student are displayed in the Summary by Action Type region of the Student Incident Summary screen.

By entering information in the appropriate fields, you can create a detailed record of an incident, including the circumstances, disposition, and any disciplinary actions that result from the incident.

Objectives

At the completion of this lesson, you will be able to:

• Identify fields on the Student Incident Screens
• Identify incidents which are appropriate to enter as student incidents (minor infractions that do not need to appear on the Safe Schools report
• Identify whether or not an incident entered as a student incident appears on the Safe Schools report
• Enter/change a student incident
