Scenario
You may realize the most benefit from this lesson if you have a general knowledge of the NC WISE attendance processes and terminology, particularly for daily attendance at your school.
Although anyone may benefit from this lesson, it is intended for data managers. The daily attendance process is presented from this point of view and describes attendance-related tasks that a data manager would typically perform.
In your role as a data manager, you will frequently use the following options on the Daily Attendance drop-down menu (accessible from the Attendance Start screen).
In North Carolina, daily attendance is based on a student’s presence at school for at least 50% of the instructional day. Therefore, a full-day absence is recorded when a student is away from school for more than 50% of the instructional day.
With that definition of attendance in mind, you will begin with the Daily Att.-Homeroom Class Entry screen.
