North Carolina schools are required to report attendance each school day. eSIS provides three ways to report attendance for North Carolina schools:
This lesson explores typical tasks that can be performed in eSIS for a Daily Attendance school. Daily attendance is based on a student’s presence at school for at least 50% of the instructional day.
Our lesson describes how to:
Depending on individual school policies, daily attendance can be taken in a homeroom or a classroom. By contrast, period attendance schools enter attendance more than
once per day during each academic class or block of classes (periods).
Although eSIS allows for separate recording of AM and PM attendance, daily
absences in North Carolina schools are only recorded once for the full day.
If necessary, absence records can be modified to change an absence type, absence reason, student notes, etc.
