Introduction
This lesson shows how to track Pre-K 000 students who are attending private special education schools with public school funding.
To manage the Pre-K 000 school, the LEA selects a central office administrator to manage the Pre-K 000 school. Pre-K 000 schools provide educational opportunities for developmentally delayed students, and state funds are available for servicing these students.
These schools often fall under an “umbrella” school, which may service several Pre-K 000 schools and report all Pre-K 000 students through this one umbrella school.
The administrators of these schools are given school level security and maintain two separate accounts to set up and manage their mainstream school and the Pre-K 000 school.
Exceptional Students must have one exceptionality marked as PE (Primary Exceptionality). This PE must be identified for headcount with no end date or an end date greater than headcount date.
There are minimal requirements that need to be recorded:
Pre-K 000 school students are submitted as a part of the December 1st and April 1st Exceptional Children Headcount.
